After Rob’s lecture today, and after a few days of research, I was able to gather some information about current touch screen mobile phone. Besides Apple’s latest “Iphone”, Dopod and Palm also have released touch pad mobile phones.
I found out today that the Iphone however will be using the 2G network, meaning no video calling. Where as Dopod and Palm are already using 3 or 3.5g network.
Overall, the americans are very proud of what they think will change how the humans will see the a phone. The Iphone, is Ipod, handphone and internet all as one product. There are no keys, joystick of scroller, it is simply a touch screen. By moving your fingers up down, the screen will move up and down. By double clicking or moving two fingers apart the screen in zoom in.
The downfall to this phone I think is that is doesn’t really intereact well with other people. There is alot of intereaction between the phone and the user, but I think adding some devices which allows the user and their friends and family intereact with each other? how about that?
